5 Fun, Easy Ways To Display Kids’ Art

Here are a few ideas to display your kids' art in a way that makes them feel like a real artist.

1. Frame and arrange.

Gallery walls are a trendy design feature. They’re even cooler when they’re used to display kids’ art. Best of all, the little ones can help while also learning with this project. Have them choose their favorite masterpieces. Together, measure the art and make a list of the frame sizes you need. Tip: shop for frames at the dollar store to save money. If you can’t find the exact style you want, paint them for a more cohesive look. Once all the artwork is framed, organize the pieces on your wall. Again, employ your kids to help. Their creative eye might come up with the perfect arrangement.

2. String them along.

Have a long hallway in your house? That’s the perfect spot to create a lineup of your child’s artwork. This can be done in a number of ways. If possible, nail a strip of wood to the wall, and then glue clothespins to the wood. Glue them 12 inches apart for enough room to hold the artwork. For a quick-and-easy project, nail twine to the wall instead. This linear display can also be done with a few curtain rods (for a more elegant look).

3. Build ledges.

Ledges or small shelves allow for different types of art to be on display. (Ceramics, anyone?) Plus, when the kids grow up, you can use the ledges for family photos, vases, and other décor. This does require some basic tools and a trip to your local hardware store. But the end result is worth the investment. Don’t be afraid to build multiple ledges – you’ll fill them up in no time. Paint the ledges the same color as your wall. They'll blend with your home and really make the artwork pop.

4. Create puzzles.

That stunning beach scene your child drew can take on another dimension. Turning their art into a puzzle makes it interactive. You literally create another form of entertainment. Win-win! This display isn’t only for drawings, paintings, and other paper-based art. Three-dimensional sculptures can be made into puzzles, too. Simply set the piece against a solid background and snap a picture. A picture is all you need to create a puzzle.

5. Print photo books.

Speaking of pictures…why not try a photo book? You don’t have to be as selective with artwork. Add as many pages to your photo book as you like. Or, create multiple books. Each one can have a different theme. For a complete tutorial, check out how to display children’s art in a photo book. You’ll be amazed at how easy it is to put together. Enjoy watching your kids marvel at their art in a permanent, professionally-printed book.
