A camper has many other uses, apart from the common one, of allowing tourists to travel and tour in style, and here are some of the many other uses of a camper.
Many shopkeepers use the camper as a mobile shop. Of course, this camper is a vastly different and heavily modified so that the shopkeeper can make perfect use of it, but at the heart of it all, it is still a camper. A typical camper is the perfect vehicle for a shopkeeper to sell small products, and a typical ice cream van is nothing but a modified camper.
The camper comes handy even for people in the advertising field. Some companies hire campers for promotional activities, as there are many hoardings and collateral that needs transportation from one place to another. In some cases, the promotion takes place on the roads, and several volunteers need to travel along too, and this where the residential part of the camper becomes important.
Campers are a Godsend to the touring circuses too, though they are becoming quite rare now. Many circus troupes have at least a couple of campers – some might even have one each for the different people comprising the circus – and they live their entire lives in such campers and recreational vehicles. This does not mean that the circus does not have tents, the troupes use tents as well as campers.
For some people, the campers and trailers are not something that they will use to tour, but they actually live in the trailer and camper. In fact, in many countries there are specific trailer parks, where people who live in a trailer can rent space and live. These individuals are the adventurous, new generation nomads, and require a camper or a trailer to ensure that they have the amenities that living in a brick and mortar residence would give them.
