The F-Series from Ford has shown to deliver America the best-selling truck for more than 30 years. This light-duty truck continues to lead the market with their winning combination of horsepower, torque, towing, fuel economy, and payload. As certified by Polk, Ford dominates the roads with more cars in operation showing mileage over 250,000. This year will be different as the all-new 2015 Ford F-150.

The 2015 Ford F-150 reduces curb weight by up to 700 pounds with high strength steel in the frame and an aluminum body. Up from 23% the F-150’s frame is now 77% high strength steel in which it uses a body on frame construction. The reduced weight will help the overall performance of the vehicle, including things like fuel efficiency and driving dynamics. The reduced weight will allow drivers to feel a difference when it accelerates and brakes, as well helping resist corrosion to the vehicle. The estimated EPA for the F-150 will be 17 MPG City and 23 MPG highway.

This year there will be a new engine option, the 2.7 EcoBoost V6. The engine should allow for greater efficiency, while still bringing excellent low-end torque to the vehicle. The new EcoBoost engines has some new features such as a variable-displacement oil pump, Auto start/stop technology to name a few, all aimed to make sure the EcoBoost engine is powerful and efficient for all needs required of an F-150. Plus with the changes to the EcoBoost engine it will help make the truck more fuel efficient with an estimated EPA of 17 MPG City and 23 MPG highway.

Not to be left out, the interior of the all new F-150 all sees some improvements that will add to the overall driving experience. Available will be the 360 degree camera system that will let you see all 4 sides of the truck to help trying to park in tight spaces, on trails and at job sites. 400w outlets will also be available to allow charging for numerous devices or tools. Other features such as adaptive cruise control, remote-locked tailgate and LED spotlights for the truck bed and side mirrors.

The F-150 has also earned the Built Ford Tough validation with over 10 million cumulative miles of testing before the truck even gets off the line. This goes a long way to making sure this truck can hold up under any circumstances. Ford has added some nice safety features that will be available such as blind spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist and second-row seatbelt airbags. The All New Ford F-150 will be available later this year. Visit your local dealership for news and updates regarding the new models.
