According to a a recent Gartner study, up to 90 % of the data centers around the world will have virtualized infrastructure in 2014, up from 60 % in 2012. The virtualization and cloud computing industry is experiencing a boom, with businesses around the globe embracing these technologies for their cost effectiveness, high scalability and flexibility.

Virtualization is a way of creating an abstract layer over actual hardware, so that computing resources can be efficiently used. A single hardware server may then be abstracted into several virtual machines (VMs) depending on the requirements of the organization. Each VM can then offer independent services. This abstraction is performed by a specialized software called Hypervisor. VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix XenServer are some of the popular virtualization hypervisors.

The cloud then determines how these virtualized resources are allocated and delivered. Cloud computing essentially provides services over a virtualized environment. The services can be deployed very quickly on an – as needed basis. The flexibility of cloud computing over a virtual infrastructure means that companies can now focus on their core business, rather than wasting time and effort on strategies to use their IT resources more efficiently. And the best part is that, this is much more cost effective than using in house infrastructure. VMware and Microsoft also have some great cloud managing software like vCloud Director and Microsoft Cloud.

Virtualization is becoming common not only in compute resources but also for storage and networking. It is virtually impossible (pun intended!) to be a competitive IT administrator without some knowledge of virtualization and cloud technologies.

Zoom Technologies is a leading training institute offering several courses in virtualization, networking and security. We have trained over one hundred thousand engineers over a span of two decades.

We offer a specialized course on virtualization and cloud computing. This is available in both online and classroom mode.

Brief overview of Course:

This course covers all the aspects required to design, configure and manage a Virtual Data Center environment using VMware vSphere Virtualization Technology. The course will provide hands-on Virtual Data Center Infrastructure administration, as no Data Center or cloud is complete without virtualization today.

The instructors are Senior System/Network Engineers with several years of field experience in virtualization.
