It may not matter much to a common person who does not realize the process and the product of planning, designing, and constructing buildings. A brilliant structure requires an efficient architect. This is only possible when the education imparted to these architects is of the highest quality and standards.

Architecture can be found in physical frameworks, both natural and manmade. It also has to be responsive to cultural frameworks that are of historical and ideological significance. Hence, the education offered at CEPT is based on the premise that an Architect is responsible for societal change. 

At CEPT University, the main focus is on understanding, designing, planning, constructing and managing human habitats. Originally established in 1962 as the School of Architecture, the Faculty of Architecture at CEPT University is one of the vital centres for education in the field of Architecture. 

The Faculty of Architecture at CEPT, aims for excellence in its teaching and research programs. Education provided at the Faculty creates Architects that act as a responsible agent for societal change. The student needs exposure that helps shape a reflective and critical outlook based on social & environmental awareness. This needs to be combined with the rigorous learning of skills necessary in the field of architecture. 

It gives the candidate a wide cultural exposure that helps shape and develop a critical outlook. This exposure helps the candidate establish social awareness. Combining this with necessary skills and discipline creates efficient professional Architects. This two fold orientation and well-planned pedagogical method has helped the school to become one of the best architecture colleges in India.

The five year long Bachelor of Architecture program leads to the award of B. Arch degree.  Additionally, the two - year long Masters Program in Architecture enhances the skills of the students and provides them exposure in different dimensions of the environment. 

The candidate applying for Bachelor of Architecture program must have passed standard 12th or its equivalent examination with Mathematics, Statistics or Business Mathematics as one of the main subjects, with the minimum aggregate score of 50% marks for all subjects, 45% for SC/ST/SEBC category from Gujarat Board, or other state boards, CBSE/CISCE/NIOS/ISB/IB.

The student also has to score at least 40% marks in National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) to be eligible for admission.

Additionally, CEPT also offers different opportunities to students for their further development and growth. The International Outreach Mission builds on the existing programs to offer a unique set of opportunities to the students. Travel in India is one such opportunity offered by CEPT which hosts Winter and Summer School Programs. This popular program is hosted twice a year. These are structured learning programmes of two to five weeks that provide diverse experience within and outside India. These workshops are open to everyone – international students & faculty. Furthermore, these attract leading international academic and professionals from abroad with their students who wish to study in India for accredited studies.
