Top 5 Must-have Clothes In Your Newborn’s Wardrobe

As new parents, we could get overwhelmed with the number of options available in the market when you move out to shop for your newborn.

If it's a baby girl, god save the credit card of the father from being swiped from hair clips to small short dresses to socks - palm-size, the list can be never-ending. If it's a boy, you know how important the color blue is. Everything blue you see in the kid’s section will be in your cart. Whether a boy or a girl, there are certain standard clothes/outfits you cannot ignore when you shop for your newborn. Read below for more details.

Your baby’s wardrobe should contain:

1. Booty and Mitten set:

As a newborn your baby doesn’t require shoes, they will barely keep their feet on the floor. Just to save them from infections and rashes on the feet. Crochet or light cotton booties will ensure your baby’s feet remain warm. Additionally, these booties are lightweight and make it comparatively easier for the baby's growth. The finest in the soles allows your little one's toes to grip the floor making it easier for them to walk. It also embraces the sense of balance and coordination while taking their first steps.

Expert advice: Buy ultra soft or crochet booties and mittens for the gentle feet of your little one.

Ideal quantity to stock up: 3 to 4 pairs each.

2. Caps:

We know exactly how much you would be pleased to experience the slight breeze, right? Did you know it can affect your baby negatively making it an unpleasant experience? You want to save your little angel from all the winds. A Cap set will keep the head and the ears warm and away from the wild winds.

Expert advice: Protect your precious baby’s head with soft caps when you move out of the house.

Ideal quantity to stock up: 3 to 4 pieces

3. Bodysuits:

Bodysuits are like jumpers. They are known as one-piece clothes also called onesies. They are easy to wear and are absolutely complaint-free. In fact, the baby Bodysuit is stable and stays in place unlike a swimsuit when the baby desires to move. Additionally, it hides the layer that could exceed the pants or skirt keeping aesthetics in mind. Most of the baby bodysuits are made of soft and fine cotton, which will ensure protecting the baby’s skin.

Expert advice: We suggest going for ones with wide neck holes and bigger leg holes to ensure you don’t have to push and pull too much while dressing your newborn.

Ideal quantity to stock up: 5 to 7 pcs (keeping in the mind the daily changes)

 4. 2 piece set (top and pant):

The next essential cloth set you need to invest in for your newborn is a few 2 piece sets. Though a bodysuit is ideal there are times you want to take your little one for a stroll and a jumpsuit can be really boring. With a 2 piece set, you can incorporate more colors and designs. Upgrade to something a little fancier than an onesie to keep up to color trends.

Expert advice: Avoid denim material clothes for now as the material can get your baby’s skin a rash.

Ideal quantity to stock up: 3 to 5 sets.

5. Sweaters:

Children by birth are known to have low immunity and are very sensitive to weather changes. We recommend you keep sweaters in stock for the cold to save them from the flu. If the weather isn’t too cold/chilled, a sweater will still help your baby’s baby to be warm.

Expert advice: You must buy sweaters 1 month before the winters arrive. Also, before you plan a trip out of town with your newborn, consider a temperature check of the location before shopping.

Ideal quantity to stock up: 2 to 3 pieces.

We know how keen and excited you may be to shop for your little ones. We recommend you take it slow and prioritize what is essential and what can be pushed for later. Though fashion may mean a lot to you as a parent nothing can overpower the comfort of your child.
