9. Place a large drop sheet on the ground before rolling out the dome cover to keep it clean
10. Take care when pulling the cover over the frame and have one person inside to ensure the cover or ropes don’t snag or get caught. Once the cover is on the frame square it up and pull the pelmets over the end arches.

Tension the dome’s cover in the longitudinal direction first, bringing the ends over the end arches and tie off then tension on the sides. This will ensure that the cover is centered properly.

The cover should appear smooth without any dips or wrinkles with the greatest tension longitudinally. The lateral tension should be only enough to secure the cover and keep it tight. Otherwise, there may be dips or hollows between the arches which will cause stress on the seams and allow the cover to flap in the wind.

When you wish to erect a dome shelter, choose a flat level area that has enough room to easily move around on and allows you to use a crane or “A” frame to erect the arches. It’s vital for safety and to ensure the job goes smoothly to pick a day when there is now wind as the dome cover is difficult to control in windy conditions and have enough people to assist, usually 4 to 6 workers are required.
