That’s because Lamar Hunt, an oil man from Dallas who also owned the Kansas City Chiefs, was the one that has called the NFL championship the “Super Bowl”. Every year, Dallas hosts the Cotton Bowl, as well as the match between the University of Texas and the University of Oklahoma, the city being considered a neutral territory. The event gathers people from both cities in Dallas eager to support their team. The residents of Dallas also love baseball and most of them are big fans of the Rangers.

Food and restaurants

Dallas is a foodie’s paradise. You will find here cuisine from all over the world, especially since the city has more restaurants per capita than the Big Apple. This means there are a lot of restaurants in Dallas, and when we say a lot, we mean it. The restaurant scene in Dallas is impressive and the culinary variety is overwhelming. You will find food for all budgets so, if one thing is sure when it comes to moving to Dallas, is that you will never starve here. Of course, the first restaurant you’re probably going to visit after you move here is a Tex-Mex place. After all, Tex-Mex is the “traditional” food in these parts of the country.

Tornadoes are a thing here

That’s right! If you ever wondered what it feels like to see a tornado up close, you’ll get your answer in Dallas. The city is exposed to tornadoes, and they usually bring with them floods. These things a reality here, so you should consider yourself warned. It wouldn’t hurt to learn a thing or two about this natural phenomenon and make sure you write down a few safety tips, like make sure you avoid pools of water when the city is flooded, for example. Get used to having an emergency plan in place in case of tornadoes and put aside some water and cans of beans, just in case.
