ver the last decade, many people have asked me the difference between a landing page vs website. So in this article, we will talk about the exact differences and when to use a landing page in your campaigns.

What’s a landing page?

A landing page is a webpage with a clear focus on a single call to action. The call to action could be that we want visitors to fill out the form or click-through to the next page. It is also known as conversion.

You should be able to track that same action or conversion to improve your overall campaigns later.

What is a Website?

A website can serve various purposes. It can offer as your homepage, showcasing to visitors all of the services or products you offer. It can also be a blog page, where you can provide relevant information to readers while also establishing your brand as an expert.

The point is that, unlike landing pages, that also deliver a single purpose, a website can serve diverse uses. They add value to the strengthening of your online presence and the creation of a digital space for you and your customers.

Now we have a clear understanding of the aim of a landing page and a webpage which makes it easier to discuss landing page vs website.

Key differences between landing page vs website

Now, as the definition is out of the way, let us look at some of the key differences between the landing page and the website.

Call to action

Let’s start with the main one.
Call to Action – Landing pages usually have one goal or a single call to action.

Compare this to your website – e.g. on your homepage. You can have newsletter signup or lead magnet form and a few other links. However, a landing page has only one goal.

No navigation

Yes, I know it must have sounded surprised, but landing pages have no links to any other pages. The aim is really to limit the choice. It is a proven fact that when people are given more options, they do not take any action. So without any link, we focus all our attention on that one goal.
