Coolest Tech from the Mobile World Congress 2016 [Part 1]

The Mobile World Congress in well under way in Barcelona, trying to mesmerize us all with cool gizmos and technologies

The Mobile World Congress in Barcelona is into its second day, and we’ve seen some high-tech gadgets being unveiled. After all, the MWC aims to showcase the latest mobile and wireless technology to the world. Without further ado, here’s Part 1 of our favorites from the event:

Samsung Galaxy S7

After a famous leak by their Indonesian division on YouTube, Samsung unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge at the MWC. The smartphone company brought back the microSD with a hybrid slot, allowing expandable storage upto 200GB with 32GB of internal storage. Plus, the device is waterproof, and can take a dip in 5 feet of water for half an hour.

Featuring a 12MP rear camera that absorbs 56% more light and a 5MP front camera, an f/1.7 aperture, Samsung has gone out of its way to make the Galaxy S7 a phone for camera enthusiasts.  Along with all this, the phone’s energy-efficient AMOLED display and Snapdragon 820 processor keeps the screen always on without sacrificing battery life. Adding Android Marshmallow with TouchWiz, 4GB of RAM, NFC, wireless charging, and 3000 mAh / 3600mAh of battery, the Galaxy S7 is a formidable opponent to the LG G5.

CAT S60

Caterpillar Inc. just released a smartphone called the CAT S60, with inbuilt thermal imaging by FLIR. Secondly, with a built-in software thermometer, the phone can measure the temperatures of specific areas. The FLIR camera has a VGA resolution of 640 x 480 pixels alongside a normal camera, a 3800 mAh battery and Android Marshmallow.

Although the phone is not designed for the average user, it can be used by professionals such as firefighters and emergency response workers. Equipped with Android Marshmallow, a microSD slot with expandable storage, 32 GB of internal storage and 3 GB of RAM, the S60 will prove to be pretty useful in times to come.

LG Rolling Bot

We can’t really think of a use for this ball by LG. Called LG Rolling Bot, it is essentially an accessory for the LG G5. A device manager in the G5 connects to the ball through the internet, making the smartphone a remote control that’s accessible anywhere on Earth! Equipped with a camera to record videos, a speaker to transmit sounds, and an Infrared transmitter to control the television, the LG Rolling Bot also has a laser pointer for unknown purposes.

The center of the Rolling Bot consists of all the cameras and other nitty-gritty features of the device. The two semi-hemispheres allow the ball to move in any direction desired.
