Day 01:Arrival in Kathmandu Airport and transfer to hotel, Hotel 

We will meet you at Tribhuvan International Airport. Our office staff will help you until the check-in procedure ends at the Hotel. You can have a rest at the Hotel.

Day 02:Final trekking preparation and Kathmandu valley sightseeing, B, Hotel  

Today we will spend our day sightseeing around some of the world heritage sites of UNESCO. Most importantly we will complete all the necessary paper works and make other preparations required for Amphu Lapcha Pass trekking. 

Day 03:Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Chuttenga (3,450 m, 3 hrs), BLD, Teahouse 

After having breakfast at the Hotel, we will head to domestic flight for the flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Lukla is the gateway to Khumbu and Everest region. After landing at the airport of Lukla, we will start our trek heading east and pass along several community and wooden yards. Dense forested area filled with rhododendron, pines, oaks and birch trees. Our trek goes on the hillside below Kalo Himal ridge as we head towards the summer grazing lands of Chuttenga..

Day 04:Trek from Chuttenga to Tuli Kharka (3,490 m) via Zatrwala pass (4,538 m) 6 hrs, BLD, Teahouse 

From Chuttenga, our trail is a gradually ascent and then much steeper climb for the crossing of Zatrwala Pass. After arriving at the top of the pass we are rewarded with breath taking views of Numbur Himal, Kongdi Ri, Karyolang Peak and other surrounding high peaks.

Day 05:Trek from Tuli Kharka to Kothe (3,555 m, 6 hrs), BLD, Teahouse 

We will follow descending journey all the way down to Hinku River. After reaching the river bed, we will make a final climb through dense rhododendron filled forest to arrive at Kothe. Kothe is located at the west side of Hinku valley and there exist dense rhododendron forest. In spring, the hills are filled with rhododendron flowers that make the area one of the most charming spots on the planet. We will spend our night at Kothe.

Day 06:Trek from Kothe to Thangnag (4,356 m, 5 hrs), BLD, Teahouse 

Trek from Kothe to Thangnag, we will follow the trail that goes along the Ridge of Hinku River and head towards Gondishung. Continuing our trek from there, we will pass through Lungsumgba Gompa which was built around 200 years ago. At this point, we will get to see Mera Peak along with its route scripted in a rock which is a outstanding of rock carving. From here a rather easy and short trek will lead us towards the summer grazing land of Thangnag.

Day 07:Trek from Thangnag to Khare (4,900 m, 05 hrs), BLD, Tented Camping

Today is totally uphill. From Thangnag to Khare we will follow the trail that goes over the glacier towards a Kharka with great views of surrounding peaks. Upcoming ascend through hills will lead us to the face of Hinku Nup and Shar Glaciers. From this point we will climb steeply to reach Khare.

Day 08:Rest at Khare for acclimatization purpose, BLD, Tented Camping

We are at nearly 5,000 meters high from the sea level. Therefore, we will take a rest at Khare for acclimatization and exploration. Besides, Khare offers a number of good excursions to its visitors which are notably the best places for exploration and for acclimatization. While we spend our rest day at Khare, our Sherpa team will make necessary checks on our climbing gears and equipment for upcoming Mera Peak climbing.

Day 09:Trek from Khare to Mera La Pass or Mera Peak Base Camp (5,410 m, 06 hrs), BLD, Tented Camping  

After spending rest day at Khare, we will follow the route that is a slowly ascend over to Mera Glacier. We will have to cross along the glacier to arrive at Mera Peak Base Camp. As soon as we reach the base camp, our Sherpa crew will quickly set up the our camps and make necessary preparations for further trekking in high camp before the final summit climb of Mera Peak.

Day 10:Climbing from Mera Base Camp to Mera High Camp (5,700 m), BLD, Tented Camping  

From Base Camp to Mera high camp, we will follow the trail that is frequently snow covered and slippery. Ascending on top of the rock belt we head towards Mera Peak High Camp. From the high camp, we will have astonishing views of world's towering mountains including Everest, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Nuptse and other snow-capped mountains.

Day 11:Summit of Mera Peak (6,476 m), descend to Kongma Dingma (4,850 m), BLD, Tented Camping  

Today is the big day for us and the day we all were especially waiting for. Fully equipped and properly acclimatized, we start early and follow the steep trail made by our experienced climbing guides. We climb up the glacier and onto an uneven ridge. From there the climb goes steep up as we head towards Mera Peak summit. We will spend short quality time at the Mera Peak summit and then descend back to reach Kongma Dingma following the same route.

Day 12:Trek from Kongme Dingma to Seto Pokhari (5,100 m, 05 hrs) via Honku valley, BLD, Tented Camping 

We will follow the trekking route that leads higher into yak grazing land of the beautiful and remote valley. We trek alongside with splendid views of surrounding mountains and high alpine valleys. Our trek continues to Seto Pokhari for our overnight camping. Seto Pokhari means 'White Lake' in Nepali language.

Day 13:Trek from Seto Pokhari to Amphu Lapcha Base Camp, South (5,500 m, 06 hrs) via Panch Pokhari, BLD, Tented Camping

We will continue our trekking passing through one of the most remote part of the Himalayas. Gradually ascend in the journey over the Honku valley which offers true mountain wilderness. We will continue to trek along the beautiful Honku valley and in short time we will arrive at Amphu Lapcha Base Camp via Panch Pokhari.

Day 14:Trek from Amphu Lapcha South Base Camp to Amphu Lapcha Base Camp (North) (5,300 m) via Amphu Lapcha La Pass (5,845 m), BLD, Tented Camping

Today we start trek early for the crossing of the technically difficult and challenging alpine pass, Amphu Lapcha La Pass at 5845m. The pass is frequently covered with snow and ice, moving one step at the time we head further all the way to the top of the pass. Once we are at the top of the pass we are rewarded with splendid views of surrounding high mountains. From the top we will descend down to reach Amphu Lapcha North Base Camp.

Day 15:Trek from Amphu Lapcha North Base Camp to Pangboche (3,930 m), BLD, Teahouse 

We will follow the same route that is mostly downhill trekking along the moraine as we arrive at Chhukung. From here our trek passes the Sherpa community. After few hours of trekking, we arrive at Pangboche for the overnight stop.

Day 16:Trek from Pangboche to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m), BLD, Teahouse 

From Pangboche to Namche bazaar we will descends for a few hours before climbing up towards Tengboche. We will pay a visit at Tengboche Monastery before descending down through thickly forested area towards the village of Trashinga. A preferably easy trail from there will lead us to Namche Bazaar at the Sherpa Capital.

Day 17:Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,800 m), BLD, Teahouse 

This trekking adventure to Amphu Lapcha La Pass ends with walking down from Namche Bazaar via Monjo to Lukla. The trek is pleasant, except climbs of a short uphill and then down to the Bhote Koshi River crossing it three times. The last uphill trek of 40 minutes will bring us to Lukla. As we arrive at Lukla we will celebrate our successful Amphu Lapcha Pass trekking with Mera Peak climbing.

Day 18:Scenic flight from Lukla to Kathmandu (35 minutes) and transfer to hotel, BD, Hotel

From Lukla, we will fly back to Kathmandu. You will be transferred to the hotel as soon as you arrive in Kathmandu. You can either have the rest at Hotel or pay a visit to attraction destinations of historical significance, the world heritage sites of UNESCO in Kathmandu valley. Enjoy your last day in Kathmandu.

Day 19:Goodbye from Nepal, international flight, B, flight.

As per your international flight schedule time, our staff will drop you in the airport for you sweet flight back home. Goodbye and see you again.

How is the Accommodation during the Everest Amphu Lapcha Pass Trekking?

In Everest Amphu Lapcha Pass Trekking, we will provide you the teahouse accommodations as per availability in some days but for most of the days, you will be sleeping in the tented camps. A teahouse is typically a mountain lodge which is a combination of a lodge or a guest house and a restaurant or a café with basic furniture and interiors suitable for the social hangout. Many teahouses are without attached bathrooms and the central heating furnace. Very less teahouses provide the European toilets while Asian style of toilets are available in every teahouses. Hot showers are available but on extra cost. The same goes with the hot drinking water since they use the gas or solar to boil the water. Sleeping blankets are usually provided but we recommend you to carry your own sleeping bags for the hygienic purpose {can be arranged on request}. What are the permits that I need for Everest Amphu Lapcha Pass Trekking?

For Everest Amphu Lapcha Pass Trekking, you will need to make four different permits: Mera peak climbing permit, Makalu-Barun National Park fee, Sagarmatha National Park Entrance fee {can be made in Nepal Tourism Board at Kathmandu or in Monjo} and Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance fee {obtained in Lukla}.

How does this tipping system in Nepal works and do I have to tip?
