The Best Sites For Selfies In Benidorm

Benidorm is chock full of stunning sights.

Having spent many years here in the heavenly paradise of Benidorm, I’ve seen one too many people try and fail to get the perfect holiday selfie. It can be difficult to capture the city’s charming beauty when crowds are swarming around in the back of your shot, which doesn’t help trying to stir up some envy on social media. So, to try to help you get that perfect holiday selfie, I’ve listed some of my top spots for epic vistas right here in Benidorm.

The Sierra Helada Cross

Oddly enough, the Sierra Helada translates to the “Ice Mountain” in English. However, those who make the 45-minute walk up to this stunning viewpoint will not be disappointed. It provides a great panorama of mountains overlooking Benidorm, and of the nearby beaches. Here you can also see the cross erected in the 1950s to look over and protect the town, and the many personal plaques left by locals in memory of loved ones.

Tossal de la Cala

Those with vertigo may want to stay clear of this one. From the cliff edge overlooking Poniente beach you get it all; the deep blue sea, bustling beaches, towering sky scrapers and epic mountains in the background. This is likely to be the best cliff-edge selfie spot you’ll come across.

Balcón del Mediterráneo

This grand walkway divides two of Benidorm’s most famous beaches: Playa de Levante and the Playa de Poniente. It’s also known as The Castle Viewpoint because of the castle that once stood nearby. The boulevard still retains some of that stately style, set against dazzling views of the city, beaches and sea. Being easily accessible, the Balcón del Mediterráneo has become an extremely popular spot, so try to rouse yourself in time for sunrise for the best selfie.

Hotel Madeira Centro

You don’t have to be staying at this high-end hotel to enjoy its breathtakingly spectacular views. Grab a drink at the rooftop bar and hang around to take that perfect sunset selfie, minus the crowds you can see down below. Afterwards you can head downstairs to the restaurant and watch as the skyline transforms into a sumptuous night view.

Gran Hotel Bali

If you’re really looking for luxury, check out the 4-star Gran Hotel Bali. As the tallest building in Spain, you really can’t beat a selfie from the top of 43 storeys. Then again, as the hotel itself is an iconic part of the skyline, you may want it to feature in your picture instead.

Take a Boat Trip

If you want an incredible view of the city skyline from sea level, head out on a boat trip. Travel to Benidorm Island, or check out some of the fun water sports activities on offer. Just be careful when taking a selfie here – the sea has already claimed many a camera.

How to Get into the City

Make sure you plan how you’re getting to Benidorm in advance. If you’re arriving in a group, you might want to pre-book a private or shared shuttle from Alicante Airport to Benidorm. They are cheap and convenient, with plenty of room for luggage.

Now you know the best spots, it’s time to go and take your own selfie with the stunning sights of Benidorm in the background.
