Pampering In La Plagne: Non-skiing Fun For Couples

La Plagne has many romantic activities in store for couples. It is also easy to reach with our ski transfers.

A winter holiday in The Alps is a wonderful, relaxing and romantic experience, and something that I highly suggest to non-skiing couples. Whilst everyone else freezes on the slopes, you can make the most of the fabulous facilities and activities found around the resort and enjoy the stunning natural scenery.

There are many great resorts for starry-eyed romantics, but I think that La Plagne is the best, as it boasts many great options for non-skiers. In addition to this, it is also easy to reach with Shuttle Direct’s ski transfers – Geneva to La Plagne is the most convenient route for those coming from the UK.

Sold? Good! Here are a few of my favourite non-skiing activities that I think any couple would enjoy.

Making Cheese in Montalbert

Cheese and winter holidays are the perfect marriage. But while you may think that trying the region’s cheeses in the form of a traditional fondue is exciting enough, I’ve got an even better suggestion for you. You can learn the art of making cheese in the traditional village of Montalbert with lessons from Roland Loyet, the owner of the fantastic Le For-peret restaurant. The affable Roland hosts free demonstrations twice a week, which will show you the skill that goes into making well-known Savoyard cheese. After a fun ses-sion of making French fromage, why not head to Le Forperet for fondue? You will cer-tainly have a new appreciation for cheese after this!

Pampering at Les Hauts Bois

One of the best aspects of heading to a snowy resort is taking advantage of the spas. Getting pampered in the middle of picturesque wintery landscapes is heavenly – espe-cially when you’re with that special someone. Les Hauts Bois is a cosy and peaceful mountain spa with a range of facilities and treatments, allowing you to unwind and re-charge your batteries. Trust me: you will feel completely reinvigorated after spending time here!

The relaxing heated indoor pool is surrounded by windows, which provide lovely views over the snow-capped mountains. The spa also features steam cabins, a sauna and two treatments rooms, in which you can indulge in massages, beauty treatments and more. Also be sure to visit the remarkably tranquil relaxation room, which offers mesmerising views over Mont-Blanc.

Cooking a Romantic Steak Dinner for Your Partner at Le Refuge

After a refreshing day at the spa, what better way to spend the evening than over a ro-mantic steak dinner? Le Refuge is one of the oldest and most charming restaurants in La Plagne, boasting plenty of Savoyard character. Diners can grill their own meat to their liking, thanks to the copper hood on each table – this creates a unique and intimate set-ting that any couple will enjoy.

How to Get There

I recommend flying into Geneva from the UK – although there are closer airports, this is the most convenient in terms of the number of flights that go here from London. The flight only takes 90 minutes, after which a shared or private airport transfer with Shuttle Direct is highly recommended. After all, you will not want to hang around at the airport and queue for a cab, so consider booking one of the service’s ski transfers. Geneva is about two and a half hours from La Plagne by road, so simply let a driver whisk you away to your destination while you sit back and take in the stunning views.

La Plagne is a fantastic spot for non-skiing couples, as there’s plenty to keep you enter-tained. For a superb holiday, don’t wait to book your accommodation and one of Shuttle Direct’s ski transfers. Geneva – and then La Plagne – await!

Lukas Johannes is a driver for Shuttle Direct, the number one provider of shared and private airport transfers all over Europe and northern Africa. If you’re looking for afford-able ski transfers, Geneva Airport serves as a hub for the French and Swiss Alps. Lukas and his col-leagues can make sure that you and your luggage get to and from your chosen resort and the airport swiftly and safely.
