Les Menuires: A Catered Skiing Paradise

Les Menuires in the Three Valleys is a fantastic ski resort that is particularly popular with Brits thanks to its affordability, friendly atmosphere, quality catered chalets and excellent skiing. Les Menuires is set at 1,850m and provides quick access to the region’s gigantic 600km of pistes – there is more than enough skiing here to keep all abilities happy!

Accommodation

For those seeking relaxing accommodation after a long day on the slopes, it is worth considering a catered chalet instead of a hotel or a self-catered property. Chalets feel more like home than a hotel, meaning that you can settle in quickly and enjoy home amenities. You do not have to share accommodation with those that you do not know, and this privacy is often vital for relaxing.

Additionally, catered accommodation is highly convenient because you never have to worry about what to have for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but you also do not have to spend huge amounts of money on eating out every day. What’s more, these properties can actually be surprisingly affordable, especially if you can divide the cost between a group of you (the more guests, the less you pay). These benefits ensure that a catered chalet is a good option for a variety of demographics, including families, couples and large groups.

Here are a few catered holiday havens in the area that are highly worth considering.

Lorraine

Located in the peaceful village of Bettaix just outside of the centre of Les Menuires, Lorraine is a good option for families or for those seeking some quiet away from the town centre. The property has four twin en suite bedrooms and an additional cabin bunk room, which means that it can sleep up to ten people. Although it’s situated in a quiet setting, it provides quick access to the pistes, so it is ideal if you’re looking for easy access to skiing. Les Menuires’ chalets can be expensive, but Lorraine offers excellent value for money.

Hayley

Hayley can sleep up to twelve guests in six bedrooms, and has the ability to accommodate two more children if you take exclusive occupancy. It provides a ski-in/ski-out experience right next to the gondola lift, but its location in the Bruyeres complex also means that it is close to the swimming pool, nursery and ski school. Guests can enjoy lovely views across the valley whilst sat in the hot-tub on the private balcony.

Delfina

Delfina is a popular choice with large groups, as it is capable of sleeping 15 in seven bedrooms, all of which have en suite facilities. It also has a large outdoor terrace, complete with hot-tub. The accommodation has ski-in/ski-out ability, and piste can be accessed by an elevator that drops you at the foot of the Bruyeres gondola lift. Like Hayley, you are right by the swimming pool, ski school and nursery, whilst the bus stop outside makes it quick and easy to reach the facilities and bars/shops/restaurants in the central area of the resort.

Gabrielle

Another chalet in the Bruyeres complex, Gabrielle can host up to twelve adults and four children in four twin rooms and two family suites. It also features a living room and a large terrace. The gondola lift is on the doorstep of the chalet, plus guests are just a short stroll away from the shops and other facilities in the area. The main resort can be accessed from the resort shuttle bus stop, which is just a stone’s throw away from the front door.

These catered properties are all fantastic for those looking for comfort, privacy and easy access to skiing. Thanks to its convenient location in the Three Valleys, Les Menuires is a great resort for powder hounds, boasting good value for money and a friendly atmosphere throughout.
