Snow And Bubbly: New Year’s Eve In Courchevel

Welcome in the New Year, simply book a flight, arrange a Geneva to Courchevel transfer, and party all night.

There’s nothing much more festive than spending New Year’s Eve in one of Europe’s most stylish ski resorts.

Leave the greyness of a UK December behind and fly instead to Geneva, from where you can take a Geneva to Courchevel transfer and, before you know it, you will find yourself transported into a winter wonderland of snow, mountains and fairy lights.

Courchevel may not exactly be cheap, but what you get for your money is world class revelry, exclusive parties and a sumptuous, indulgent atmosphere.

I’ve spent New Year’s Eve in a number of French ski resorts and, believe me, they know how to throw a good party so, from free street parties to exclusive gatherings, here are my recommendations for New Year’s Eve in Courchevel this year.

Free Outdoor Frolics

For me, the best party is always a free party, and here the free outdoor event really is the place to spend the night welcoming in the New Year.

With a huge outdoor stage playing host to bands, and later a great choice of DJs, the revelries kick off here at 9pm with a stunning fireworks display at midnight and then dancing until the first dawn of the New Year.

This is a free event and there’s no need for a ticket, just turn up and have fun.

For a Touch of Glamour

A ticket to the refined evening of entertainment and evening meal at L’Apogee may set you back an eye-watering amount, but if you’re smart you may well be able to get on to the guest list for the after-dinner dancing and partying.

This is a black-tie event so women should be in evening dress and men in tuxedos, but if you’re dressed to impress, it might be worth trying your luck once dinner is over – if only to see how the other half welcomes in the New Year.

Courchevel the Resort

Of course there’s much more to Courchevel than just partying, it’s well worth remembering that, as part of the famous Les Trois Vallées ski area, it offers some of the best skiing in the Alps.

With wonderful wide blue and green runs into the resort and plenty of red and black runs to challenge the more experienced skier, Courchevel really does have something to offer skiers of all abilities.

Getting There

While the closest airport to Courchevel is actually Chambéry, most travellers use the much larger Geneva airport, thanks to its excellent range of international flights with both budget and premium airlines.

Getting from the airport to your accommodation couldn’t be easier if you book a Geneva to Courchevel transfer with Shuttle Direct online. If there’s a group of you you can save money by booking a private group transfer and one of our drivers will meet you at the airport with a minibus or coach big enough to take you all.

The Geneva to Courchevel transfer takes around three and a half hours, the perfect amount of time to plan your New Year’s Eve festivities.

Lukas Johannes is a driver for Shuttle Direct, the number one provider of shared and private airport transfers all over Europe and northern Africa. If you’re looking for an affordable Geneva to Courchevel transfer, Lukas and his colleagues can make sure that you and your luggage get to and from the airport swiftly and safely.
