Ten-element workouts with varying degrees of difficulty, performance, and time in the air are performed by competitors. The trampoline was invented by George Nissen in 1934, but it wasn't until the inaugural world championships in London in 1964 that it became widely used.

After 34 years, the sport and the International Gymnastics Federation amalgamated in 1998. The trampoline was included in the Olympic programme for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. Since trampoline was established as an Olympic sport, China has dominated, winning 14 of the 36 medals awarded, including four of the 12 titles.

In the women's trampoline category at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Nicole Ahsinger was the lone gymnast to represent Team USA, and she made Olympic history by taking sixth place. She tied Savannah Vinsant, an Olympian from 2012, for the highest placing by an American trampoline gymnast.

The 2024 Paris Olympics' trampoline competitions will start on August 2.

Venue

The trampoline competition will be held at Bercy Arena, a sizable sports arena that was previously France's top music venue and frequently hosted artists from around the world. The architects Michel Andrault and Pierre Part created the arena, which was constructed in 1984.

It is recognized for its unusual pyramid shape and sloped sides covered in grass and is situated in Paris's 12th arrondissement.  The arena received substantial renovations in 2014 and 2015 to update its technological foundation. These upgrades enabled Bercy Arena to accommodate a variety of sporting events, including equestrian, judo, handball, tennis, ice hockey, skiing, and motocross competitions.

SAN JOSE, CALIF., WILL HOST THE US GYMNASTICS CHAMPIONSHIPS, NATIONAL CONGRESS, AND TRADE SHOW IN 2023

On December 20, 2022, Indianapolis The annual National Congress and Trade Show of USA Gymnastics will take place in conjunction with the 2023 U.S. Gymnastics Championships in San Jose, California, from August 24 to 27.

The men's and women's junior and senior all-around and individual apparatus national champions will be decided at the annual national championship competition for artistic gymnastics in the United States, which will take place at SAP Center in San Jose. At the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, the National Congress and Trade Show will take place simultaneously. 

The president and CEO of USA Gymnastics, Li Li Leung, remarked, "The San Jose area has a long history of working with our sport, and we can't wait to return in 2023 with our season's premier event."

In 2012, the men's and women's U.S. Olympic Team Trials were held at SAP Center. Additionally, the 2016 National Congress and Trade Show, the 2011 U.S. Acrobatic Gymnastics Championships, the 2009 U.S.

 Trampoline and Tumbling Junior Olympic Championships, the 2008 Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships, the 2007 Visa Championships, which are the equivalent of the current U.S. Gymnastics Championships, and the 2004 U.S. Olympic Trials for rhythmic and trampoline gymnastics were all held in the San Jose area.
