If you're thinking about buying an iPhone, then today we're answering some of the most commonly asked questions about the devices. So before you make your decision, read on to find out more...

Which Model of iPhone is Best?

There are currently three iPhone models on the market. The top of the line device is the iPhone 5. But you can also buy the older iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S models. On the second hand market you can sometimes find some of the old iPhone 3 models, but it's not recommended that you invest in these. An iPhone 3 is just too out dated now, you'll have performance problems, and you'll have trouble running the latest software, games and programmes.

How Much Am I Looking at Paying?

That really depends on the model that you want and how much internal memory you decide you need. The top end iPhone 5 with 64 GB of internal memory (the largest available option) will cost you around seven hundred pounds. The cheapest option will be the iPhone 4 with 8 GB of memory, and that will cost you around three hundred and twenty pounds.

Where Can I Find the Best iPhone Deals?

Plenty of people are looking for the best iPhone deals, since the price tag on an iPhone can be a little off putting. Unfortunately, since iPhones are such high demand items there aren't that many good deals on them. Retailers have no incentive to discount mobile that many people want to buy anyway. For the best iPhone deals you're really going to be looking at a price difference of just a few pounds. Online shopping tends to be the best option for getting these small discounts. Just find a price comparison web site and enter the model that you're looking for to see who will give you the cheapest price on your iPhone.

Which Model Should I Get?

As we said, the top end iPhone is the iPhone 5. However, if you want to make a really good buying decision, it's probably better for you to go with the iPhone 4S. Apple has recently updated the software on the 4S, so it now runs the same version of the iOS operating system as the iPhone 5 does. This means that it has many of the same features, and it has the same camera too. The iPhone 5 does have a couple of advantages. It has a little more screen space, and a slightly faster processor. However, if you can stand to sacrifice those two advantages then you're looking at saving yourself a good hundred pounds or so on the purchase price of your new phone.

Can I Get an iPhone on an Incentive Contract?

Of course. Nearly all UK mobile operators offer the iPhone on contract. An incentive contract is simply a service contract that gives you a mobile for free or for no money down. You will have to pay for your iPhone, but you'll be paying for it in instalments via your monthly phone bill. If you're looking to get a good contract deal on an iPhone, then there are a couple of options. For no money down at all Vodafone will give you a 16 GB iPhone 5 on a twenty four month contract. You'll get unlimited calling minutes and unlimited text messages and a 1 GB per month data limit. This costs just £33 a month. Alternatively, Three also has a good iPhone deal. You will have to pay a small down payment, but it's only £29. Then you'll get the same 16 GB iPhone 5 on a twenty four month contract that includes five hundred calling minutes, five thousand text messages and completely unlimited mobile data. This is £32 per month. Signing an incentive contract can be a great way of getting the iPhone that you want without having to pay a huge amount of cash up front, so it's really worth considering.

Should I Buy a Second Hand iPhone?

Maybe. There are pros and cons to buying a second hand phone. You can get some great deals, and iPhones tend to make good second hand buys for a couple of reasons. Firstly, they have good build quality and they're robust, meaning it's less likely that there's going to be something wrong with the model that you buy. And they're also so popular that there are plenty of second hand models to choose from. The down side of buying second hand is that you don't always know what you're going to get. If you have the chance, you should examine the phone in person. You're looking for scratches and dents, and for dead pixels on the screen. You'll want to turn the phone on and make a call, send a text and connect to the internet to make sure that everything's working. You can also take a picture with the phone and look at the photo to make sure it's clear and the camera lens isn't broken. This isn't always possible though, and if you're buying second hand online you're going to have to be careful. Try to use a reputable web site, rather than buying person to person through sites like eBay, since your purchase will be less risky this way.
