Be Charmed By These Secret Spots On Mallorca

Although the Spanish island of Mallorca is known for being a classic tourist hotspot, there are plenty of lesser-known areas to discover. Lovers of the great outdoors will be especially pleased to hear that Mallorca presents a veritable feast of different geographies and landscapes; the Mediterranean island boasts everything from lush golden beaches to towering dense cliffs and from swathes of glistening forestry to extensive wetlands.

For those of you who like the idea of meandering through natural parks and uninhabited islands or discovering secluded beaches and quiet coves, Mallorca is the destination of choice.

Llucalcari

There is no better place to find tranquility and peace in a naturally beautiful environment than Llucalcari. This charming small village borders a quiet stoney bay that leads out into shiny calm waters. Dazzling waterfalls and mountain ranges lay within striking distance, and the area is punctuated with out of the way alcoves that can only be reached on foot. As if that were not enough, the shoreline is famous as a rich source of restorative mud and minerals.

The Migjorn

The Mallorcan coastline would not be the same without the Migjorn area. As far as beaches go, the stretches of white sand across the Migjorn are about as close to perfection as beaches can get. Tucked away from the traditional tourist centrifuges of the island, the beaches in the Migjorn are exclusive and, in many ways, more authentic; their seclusion is amplified by a protective ring fence of pine forests.

Banyalbufar

There’s a reason as to why Banyabalfur was chosen as the location for a popular TV commercial. Among the last of a dying breed, Banyalbufar is one of the few original villages on the Mallorca coast that remains standing. Thankfully it has stood the test of time, not least because some of the most stunning vistas in all of western Europe are to be found here. Nothing makes for a view quite like the golden hues of the setting sun behind the lumbering Tramuntana mountains. With that said, Banyalbufar is more than just a pretty place; the ancient village is naturally steeped in a rich history that penetrates each of its stoney buildings and even the surrounding plains of farmland quietly nod to a more traditional way of life.

How to Get There

The easiest way to ensure a hassle-free start to your holidays and make the most of your time is by organising your Mallorca airport taxi before you leave home. With pre-booked Mallorca airport taxis you are guaranteed a door-to-door service, and you will avoid any last-minute panic about sourcing the correct public transport or chasing down expensive local operators.

There is much more to Mallorca than meets the eye. Aside from its most popular, but no less exhilarating, tourist attractions, the island has vast appeal for travellers who value alternative and independent getaways.
