Over the years, the Nissan Titan has become one of the best pickup trucks on the market. While the current version is certainly impressive, the 2016 Nissan Titan will feature a number of noteworthy improvements. Not only will the full-size truck boast an all-new engine, but it will also be equipped with more technology than ever before. The truck’s redesigned body promises to turn a few heads. While the 2016 Titan retains its rugged character on the road, it still flaunts a very luxurious interior. Here is a brief overview of the 2016 Nissan Titan.

Although the current Titan is equipped with a powerful V-8 engine, there are some drivers who may desire improved fuel efficiency. Fortunately, the 2016 model will be available with a new turbocharged diesel engine. According to Edmunds, the muscular engine will pump out an impressive 310 horsepower and a whopping 555 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic gearbox comes standard. While the official fuel economy ratings have yet to be revealed, expect to be very impressed. As of now, Nissan officials have not provided any information about an optional engine.

The Titan XD will be a powerful workhorse. With a towing capacity in excess of 12,000 pounds, the Titan XD will be an extremely versatile machine. While the truck will come standard with a rear-wheel-drive system, prospective buyers can upgrade to a capable four-wheel-drive system. If you plan on traveling off-road, your truck can also be fitted with an electronic locking rear differential.

The XD version of the 2016 Titan will benefit from a beefed-up chassis. The high-strength steel frame will surely enhance the Titan’s overall durability. Like the chassis, the suspension system has been reinforced as well. Some of the other upgraded components include bigger brakes, a tougher transfer case, and a purpose-built rear axle. Future owners will also appreciate the integrated goose-neck hitch.

Edmunds states that the 2016 Nissan Titan will available in three different cab configurations: Standard, Crew, and King. In regards to styling, the new Titan has been designed to deliver a stunning road presence. The truck’s brawny grille and powerful stance give it a very robust appearance. Some of the available colors include Deep Blue Pearl, Pearl White, Cayenne Red, Magnetic Black and Forged Copper.

To the delight of future owners, the new Titan will be available with an array of advanced safety features. Some of the safety enhancements include blind-spot monitoring, parking sensors, and a convenient trailer-light check system. Drivers will also love Nissan’s exclusive Around View Monitor camera system.

The truck’s interior will offer an outstanding amount of room. In an effort to provide a more usable storage area, the gear shifter has been moved to the steering column. As expected, the 2016 Nissan Titan can be loaded with plenty of high-tech goodies. Some of the available creature comforts include navigation, heated seats, a touch-screen display, and leather upholstery. A special Utili-track cargo system also comes on the XD model.

Pricing for the 2016 Nissan Titan has not been announced. However, potential buyers should expect the price tag to be very competitive.
