Honda CR-V & Odyssey Top Best Cars for Families List

Two of Honda’s top selling cars, the 2015 Honda CR-V and 2015 Honda Odyssey, have been named 2015’s Best Cars for Families by U.S. News & World Report. The new Honda CR-V was chosen as the Best Compact SUV, while the latest model of the Honda Odyssey took the category for Best Minivans for Families. This marks the fifth year in a row that the Honda Odyssey has won the category.

The freshly styled 2015 Honda CR-V includes new projector-beam headlights, LED daytime running lamps and updated materials inside and out. Under the hood is where some of the model’s most significant refreshes have taken place thanks to the new direct-injected 185-horsepower “Earth Dreams” Technology 2.4-liter four-cylinder i-VTEC engine and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that effortlessly switches gears without pause. These improvements help to maximize engine performance and fuel efficiency while also making the vehicle more responsive. The new Touring trim also adds a host of safety features under the Honda Sensing suite. These features include forward-collision warning, collision-mitigation braking and a Lane Keeping Assist System that actively works to help the driver stay centered on the freeway lane. The Touring model also includes enhanced exterior and interior styling along with a new list of family-friendly standard and available features that create a new level of sophisticated fun to America’s Best Compact SUV for 2015.

The 2015 Honda Odyssey was extensively updated to better meet the needs of the modern active family. The chassis has been updated with a refreshing sporty look to match its expansive cargo space and comfortable interior loaded with standard and available upgrades. The new standard 6-speed automatic transmission under the hood helps add to the top class EPA fuel economy ratings. The Odyssey also includes seven different trim models for every family’s budget and needs.

Some of the unique available features include the surprisingly effective in-vehicle vacuum cleaner, dubbed the HondaVAC, a split-screen rear seat entertainment system, a 12-speaker surround-sound audio system, forward collision warning, lane departure warning and a built-in cooler. All of these features along with enhanced standard safety and connectivity upgrades help make the Honda Odyssey the Best Minivan for 2015.
