In the filtered world in which we live, others “best” are highly edited. You know exactly what we mean… or at least we hope you do. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what others are portraying; it should mean absolutely nothing to you. What anyone else is “Achieving’ has nothing to do with what you’re achieving. It has nothing to do with getting better every single day.

There is a phrase we like, ‘the loudest one on the room, is the weakest one in the room.’ This statement could not be more relevant in terms of consistently profitable trading.

As most know, media platforms are filled with a million distractions coming at us on a daily basis. Allowing yourself to fall victim to the noise will greatly hinder ‘getting better every single day’.

Getting Better

For example, the loud noise from those trying to flex with pictures in a G5, have got to be some of the most embarrassing marketing tactics we’ve ever seen. Do people actually fall for that b.s.?!

Real players that move around in G5’s, aren’t posting pics of them doing so; those that do are just pure noise – these are all distractions.

Completely cutting out this ridiculousness, allows you to stay on track. It allows you to remain focused on getting better every single day.

As it pertains to trading, getting better every single day isn’t just about your PnL – that’s just the scoreboard of the work you’ve put in.

There’re a number of things traders should be focusing on to get better every day:

1. Narrowing your focus – keeping your attention on a very specific process should be the foundation.
2. Becoming an expert at whatever it is you’re focusing on – set-up/long/short/orb/active/swing/morning/after/close… the list goes on.
3. Once you find yourself consistently trading in the zone, step up your size. This should be done with respect to your account size and proven confidence in your performance.

Of course, these are just the basics of how you can get better every single day, but the key is to keep a long-term view on your growth.

Greatness Takes Time

There are no limits in life. When you focus on getting better every day, the only limitations are the ones you put on yourself. When someone says something is impossible, it’s just a reflection of their own limitations. Pay them no mind and distance yourself from them at all costs.
