The MCBs are rated with current interruption levels of 1800 amps. It’s the absolute maximum any MCB can handle. On the other side, the MCCBs have current interruption levels of 10,000 amps to 200,000 amps. These ratings are very high and only suitable for the exclusive use case.

Applications

The MCBs are common in the low current circuit environment. In the low current environment, the overloading point is quite small. That’s why it’s common at the consumer end.

The MCCBs are useful in the high current circuit environment. Be it the big machines or the factories; it’s applied everywhere. The MCCBs are not suitable for a low current situation, as it’s dangerous.
