Clario, a healthcare research and technology company that provides cutting-edge endpoint technology solutions for clinical trials, has announced the acquisition of the technology company ArtiQ. This acquisition will enhance the power of artificial intelligence (AI) in Clario's Respiratory Solutions portfolio and will enable the company to further develop and utilize innovative AI applications across its service offerings.

"We are excited to have ArtiQ join our team," stated Chris Fikry, Chief Executive Officer at Clario. "Since 2018, Clario has been at the forefront of utilizing AI to enhance the efficiency and quality of clinical trial operations. This acquisition represents a significant step forward in integrating AI into our respiratory portfolio. With ArtiQ's technology, we are expanding our capacity to efficiently implement AI for overreading, ensuring data accuracy, and simplifying the clinical trial process for patients globally."

Marko Topalovic, who will continue to lead ArtiQ, will also take on the responsibility of overseeing Clario's overall AI strategy. Regarding the acquisition, he commented: "Partnering with Clario is a transformative moment for ArtiQ. The integration of our technology into Clario's portfolio not only improves the accuracy and efficiency of spirometry data analysis but also represents a substantial advancement in reducing patient burden and enhancing trial outcomes. Through Clario, our technology can now be deployed globally across all clinical trials and sponsors, allowing us to make a positive impact beyond the realm of respiratory care."

In addition to the acquisition of ArtiQ, Clario also acquired Inofab Health, a manufacturer of user-friendly ultrasonic sensor spirometer devices, in November 2023. By combining these acquisitions with Clario's extensive respiratory scientific expertise, the company aims to bolster its Respiratory Solutions portfolio, drive forward AI implementation in clinical trials, and expand its presence in the broader healthcare sector.
