MemorialCare and Abridge have joined forces to introduce Abridge's generative AI tool for clinical documentation to physicians at MemorialCare in southern California. The primary objective of this partnership is to restore the personal connection between clinicians and patients, while also alleviating the administrative burden faced by clinicians.
Dr. David Kim, EVP and CEO of MemorialCare Medical Foundation, expressed his enthusiasm for the potential impact of Abridge. He predicts that the tool will enable clinicians to leave work earlier, cope with the demands of modern healthcare, and attend to more critical patients who require immediate attention.
Clinicians at MemorialCare have already been utilizing Abridge for several months, and they have experienced tangible benefits, such as saving up to 10 minutes per patient visit. Abridge is designed to support over 50 specialties and is available in 14 languages, making it well-suited for MemorialCare's diverse patient population. The platform's Linked Evidence foundation provides clinicians with a layer of trust, allowing them to verify any part of the summary against the source transcript and audio. Furthermore, Abridge's platform is seamlessly integrated into MemorialCare's Epic workflow, minimizing any significant obstacles related to change management.
