Tips on how to earn respect

Respect others: The fact remains that respect is reciprocal. If you genuinely want to earn respect, then you must learn to respect others. Try to eliminate arrogant and rude behaviors such as concentrating on your phone while someone is speaking to you, or shouting at people. Instead, build a positive relationship with people by paying attention to what they are saying even when you do not agree with their ideas and opinions about life.

Be sincere at all time: When people can take you by your words. When they know that you can stand by your action, and beliefs at any time, then you will earn their respect. Learn to be sincere to your friends, family members, colleagues at your workplace, in school and wherever you find yourself in life.

Learn to ask a lot of questions: Always try to show genuine interest in what other people are saying even when you know the topic being discussed. Ask a lot of questions to your junior colleagues at the workplace and learn from their answers.

Commend the positive attributes in other people: When a friend, family member, business associate or colleague at work does something that makes him stand out, try to commend their actions. Don't be jealous of other peoples success; if you want to earn respect, you must learn to compliment positive attributes in other people.Finally, respect cannot be given but earned. To earn respect, we must first of all display characters that shows that we truly deserve it.
