Imagine you’ve started your Shopify Store, and everything is going buttery smooth, but even after a long time of launch you’re not seeing any good results in conversion.

And now you’re finding that you’ve made some mistakes while creating a Shopify Store.

And this is not something to feel frustrated about, as we are Humans, and we are meant to fall for such mistakes. Nothing New, Right?

But what now?

We need to work on those mistakes!

There are over 5,00,000 Active Shopify Stores. But 95% of them don’t get success due to some mistakes.

I’ve been building Shopify Stores for years and I’ve seen Shopify Sellers making such common mistakes. Let me describe to you my observation of the Top Mistakes to avoid while selling on Shopify.

Top 10 Mistakes to avoid while Selling on Shopify:

1. Inadequate knowledge of your ideal customer:

Finding a customer is not hard but it’s not easy, either. You can’t advertise your products to any random people. And if you’re doing it, stop it right away! As it’s not worth it, and you’re only wasting your money after it mindlessly. This way you can get some leads who are mildly interested in purchasing your product/service. But your target must be those group people who are highly interested in buying your product/service, and they are your only Ideal customers.

It will cost you higher if you’ll target people who are partially interested in your product and service. And that higher cost isn’t even worth it as you’ll be spending a high amount of money on Marketing Budgets, Ad Budgets, and Other Financial Investments in return of Nothing!

So how exactly will you identify your ideal customers for Selling on Shopify?

Let’s take an example:-

[1] You’ve Nail Polish Remover as your product. Now for this product your ideal customers are those women who have already purchased Nail Polish.

[2] Your institute is providing study material for Post Graduation Students, here your Ideal Customers will be Graduate Students.

However, not all product niches have a clear target audience as I said in the example. Such as, Car, Finance, etc. For that, you can gather analytics with help of Customer Surveys, Social Media, Google Analytics, Google Ads, and more.

Anyway, take a step to identify your customer before spending a penny on marketing or advertising to avoid these Common Shopify Mistakes.

2. Not providing customers with value:

Customers will make a purchase on the basis of Product Price or the Value Offered with Products. Customers will be inclined to pay more for your product's advantages, as they think your Shopify Store delivers greater value than your competitors.

Customers benefit from a variety of factors, including:

  • Providing free shipping for all orders or for those whose total exceeds a specific threshold
  • Giving new consumers or current clients coupons for reductions
  • Creating a points-based system to reward customers for their purchases and increase consumer loyalty
  • Designing Easy to use User Interfaces

When your items don't provide the buyer with any noteworthy benefits, pricing ends up being the only factor in their decision to buy. You’re forced to sell only on the basis of price due to a lack of offers. And this is one of the most common Shopify Store Mistakes. But you don't let that happen; and instead, gain a good understanding of the product and convince your customers with its advantages. Remember that if the price is the only consideration, customers can buy from any of your rivals as well.
