Web Design Ideas That 'Speak' To Your Target Audience

A website acts as your 24/7 "marketing officer" for your business. It is important to create a more engaging one.

When it comes to business, many people in the business world know the importance of a website for their business. However, not many of them know how to make a good one. Take example from my friend with his somewhat failed business. While I have known him as a very serious and detailed when it comes to work, I didn’t think he was going to apply this to his business as well. Sure, he got a website for his business, but not only the website had crappy web design, it was almost full text and very long one at that. Not only that, the text was all in capitals! Like, what was he thinking? I know he wanted to be detailed since his company offered security guards for malls, schools, universities etc., but sadly, when it comes to business, no matter how serious your business is, it doesn’t work that way. A website for business, while it is one entity, it is a combination of good-looking design, high quality of functionality, easy access and navigation and a unique interaction between the website and the person who is exploring it. Your website acts as your 24/7 marketing officer that will answer your target audience’s questions anytime even when you are sleeping. However, imagine going on a blind date and having an awkward moment. You don’t want the same thing to happen with your business website. But here’s the thing; you can always make your website work by making it interactive using the web design that ‘speaks’ to your target audience in such a unique way that would never make people bored with the content. How? Keep reading this article to find out!

Create balance in your website

When I say balance, that means visual balance. It is the striking balance between regular content and the important details. Why? That’s because you wouldn’t hurt your target audience’s eyes this way. First, you need to reduce visual clutter. Reducing the amount of content on a page helps to clarify the important content, and will improve your target audience’s understanding since they wouldn’t skip the important part because it is all placed on the right place with the right space (Yes, you should think of increasing white space, so that it will also be useful in helping your target audience to focus on the meaningful content).

Tell a story

I’m not telling you to make up some sob story to increase engagement on your website. I’m talking about telling your real story, why you started your business and how you first started too. If gaining your target audience’s trust should be achieved through them understanding your brand, then what’s better than telling them your real story? By telling them your real story by creating a unique interactive video, you will bring your target audience to your journey as if it was in person.

Make it responsive

With the world now being turned into digital world, creating a responsive website is no longer considered as an option, rather it is mandatory. People access website from everywhere using every device. If you only create a website that is meant to be only accessed through desktop, then your audience can’t access it when they are on the go, which can be troublesome for them to even understand about your brand.

One of the biggest challenges when designing a website is not only creating a flawless experience for all devices but also one that engages the visitor and holds their attention in the right way. However, if you can create a balance in your website, starting from design, content and its functionality, you can make a great website that can generate leads and turn potential customers into real paying ones.
