  • Sharing your heart out with someone who cares about you keeps stress away from you. Call your mother or a friend. The feeling of being listened to and being understood by someone in times of stress helps much, even if they can’t physically help you.
  • Wear a nice perfume or cologne. Sounds baloney? This is something called Aromatherapy. Your sense of smell positively affects your cognitive brain – the part of your brain that does the worrying. You can also light an incense stick or burn aromatic oils with mild aromas such as sandalwood or lavender.
  • In case of overwhelming moments take both of your palms and gently place them side by side on your face where your fingers are resting on your eyelids. This helps in calming the mind. Do this for a few minutes and you will definitely feel better. This is known as Cocooning.
  • Talk to yourself. Of course you need an expert advice, right? Tell yourself to stay positive and things will sort out. Tell yourself to just breathe and relax. Self affirmations are positive. They help you a tonne when trying to keep anxiety at a distance.
