Host-country: One quota per gender (24 athletes)

As the host nation, France is assured a quota spot in both the men's and women's competitions, provided that both teams are participating in international high-performance Rugby Sevens competitions recognized by World Rugby, which is the case.

For each tournament, there are three different methods to distribute the 11 extra quotas. World Rugby Sevens World Series in 2022–2023: Four quotas for each gender (96 athletes).

The teams in positions one through four at the conclusion of the 2022–2023 World Rugby Sevens World Series will be given a quota spot for the Olympic Games Paris 2024. Events will take place between November 2022 and May 2023.

The Final Olympic Repechage Tournament, which will give one quota place per gender, will take place between the conclusion of the regional qualification procedure and June 23, 2024. Each gender will qualify 12 teams for this competition. They will be chosen as follows based on their performance in the 2023 Regional Qualification Tournaments:

The Final Olympic Repechage Tournament is not open to teams who have already qualified for the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024. If two North American women's teams have already earned spots in Paris 2024 through the World Rugby Women's Sevens Series, a spot will go to the NOC with the next-highest finish in the Final Olympic Repechage Tournament.

Within three days following the event, World Rugby Regional Association Olympic Qualification Tournaments will be finished: Two weeks following the event, World Rugby notifies the NOCs in writing that the quota places obtained TBC were confirmed: The NOCs attest to World Rugby that the designated quota places have been used.

TBC five days following the preceding action: Final Olympic Repechage tournaments; World Rugby to reallocate any unused quota spaces by 23 June 2024.

TBC three days following the event: Two weeks following the event, World Rugby notifies the NOCs in writing that the quota places obtained TBC were confirmed: Within five days following the preceding phase, the NOCs notify World Rugby that the assigned quota places have been used: World Rugby will reallocate all open spots.
