Bargain Beers: Cheap Drinks In Cities Around Europe

Europe is home to plenty of buzzing cities serving cheap drinks! Invest in worldwide travel insurance before you go.

Knowing how to make those pounds, euros or Hungarian Forints go that little bit further always makes what you buy with it taste much better. Europe is filled with cities with fantastic bars offering a tipple at very reasonable prices, and often cheaper than you’d find drinks in England.

Edinburgh

If you’re into your whisky, Edinburgh is the destination for you. Head to one of the city’s two Scotch Malt Whisky Society venues to discover the story of the country’s whisky heritage, or alternatively take a day trip over to Glasgow and grab a refreshing pint for under £3 – what a bargain!

Munich

One of Europe’s most popular destinations for beer-lovers, Munich is of course home to the world-famous Oktoberfest during the autumn months. The city’s beer tents and gardens attract visitors from all over the world, with the average price of a pint here around £3.

Budapest

The Hungarian capital of Budapest has become a favourite with holidaymakers all over Europe, and it’s hardly difficult to see why. The city is home to gorgeous and relaxing thermal baths, the scenic Danube, and a whole host of inviting ruin bars where the party goes on late into the night. Here, the beer can be as cheap as 90p a bottle!

The average price of a pint here is just over £1, and one of the best places to enjoy a drink is the Szimpla Kert ruin pub. This is a fine example of the city’s tradition of redesigning disused buildings into trendy bars. There are plenty more great drinking spots dotted along the river too.

Belgrade

You really can’t go wrong in Belgrade – booze is usually sold at just over £1 a pint. In the summertime, locals and tourists alike all convene to enjoy drinks in the sunshine, whilst a diverse mix of bars and clubs pop up on floats on the water during the evening. August’s Belgrade Beer Festival welcomes around 500,000 visitors every year.

Before You Go

Investing in a worldwide travel insurance policy is essential, and you must have it sorted before you set off on your trip. Worldwide travel insurance will protect you in the event of anything going wrong whilst you’re away, which is especially important if you’re into more daring activities.

Having that worldwide travel insuranceorganised in plenty of time before your departure date will give you the peace of mind to know that you’re covered against everything. This means you can relax and enjoy your trip with nothing to worry about, no matter where in the world you’ve chosen to find some cheap booze!

Whether it’s the trendy ruin bars of Budapest, the sunny beer gardens of Munich or the fantastic beer festival of Belgrade, there are so many options when it comes to finding cheap booze in Europe – where will you head to first?
