Where To Stay In Menorca: Choosing The Right Villa

The beautiful sun-kissed island of Menorca is a great place for a holiday. Here you will find gorgeous beaches, picturesque bays with turquoise waters, luscious woodland and breathtaking vistas. It’s remarkably diverse ecosystem makes it a popular choice for nature lovers, but there is also a mellow atmosphere around the towns which ensures that it has a leisurely pace of life which can be enjoyed by all.

Another reason that it is a popular vacation spot is that it is small enough so that you can see it all – in fact, it takes just an hour to drive across the Spanish Balearic island. Families: San Jaime (Son Bou)

Many families find that the beach is the ideal place to keep everybody happy, as here you can chill out and soak up sun or play games on the sand.

There is plenty of space to do all of this at the south coast resort of Son Bou, which boasts a brilliant 2,500 metre stretch of white sand and sublime views of the Mediterranean Sea. This beach is particularly suited to families, as it even has a selection of fun rides for the kids; this is the perfect time for mum and dad to get some peace at one of the three cool beach bars.

Nature Lovers: Es Grau

Nature lovers will be in awe of the incredible diversity that you find throughout the colourful and vibrant island. This ensures that it is also home to an abundance of wildlife that you will want to keep an eye out for.

Es Grau is a superb place for this, as it is a peaceful fishing village conveniently located right next to the wonderful S’Albufera Natural Park. This is a protected conservation area and home to a number of beautiful migrant birds. A leisurely stroll around the park is highly recommended, as is exploring the sandy bay with shallow waters. The bay also has a small selection of restaurants to choose from.

Culture Vultures: Alaior

It is not just sandy beaches and amazing views that make Menorca a great holiday destination; it also has plenty of culture. The old town of Alaior is bursting with cultural highlights and impressive architecture, including the Church of San Diego and the Church of Santa Eulalia. The winding narrow streets and stores selling local produce also create a charming and distinctive atmosphere around Alaior.

Finca Binetsau is a traditional farmhouse that allows you to get out and explore the town, but it is also nestled next to a small patch of woodland and comes with its own private pool.
