The Love Paradox: Chapter 1

What does heartbreak mean to you? Yes you!

What does heartbreak mean to you? Yes you!

Different people have different ways to love, and believe it or not, heartbreaks are aphonic. They might shatter into a thousand tiny pieces silently and differently for everyone who dares to love and desire.

For Andrew heartbreak came as a shocker when his “she is the one” announced in an afternoon tea that apparently “he is not the one”.

Who is Andrew? Andrew is a coder who spends 20 hours of his 24 hours with a laptop. For Andrew, Margaret was everything. He chopped down his 20 hours coding routine to 18 hours when he met Margaret, but look at the guts of the girl; after a year of recurrent patch-ups and break-ups, Margy finally told Andy that she needs a break and she intends the break to last forever.

Long story short, Andy was about to propose, and he was shaken when the love of his life dumped him and started dating some famous sportsperson. But deep down he knew it wasn’t much of a shocker. After all who wouldn’t date a handsome baseball star over a boring coder who literally spent the prime on his desk?

Our Andrew needed a break, so he grabbed a romantic thriller book to fuel the irony in his life and booked a flight to India. Yes, the place where rich people come to find peace. Although the coder in this story isn’t loaded, he happens to have a decent savings that can sponsor his trip to India. Bags were all packed, the checklist was double-checked, and then our sad hero decided to book a cab.

After two canceled bookings and a weird Uber glitch, he saw a girl standing next to him. Trust your writer here, she was wearing a mask, but her eyes were deep enough to entice anyone who cared for a glance. Was Andy smitten? No, I was! (Ahem, I was his invisible companion, of course). So, the cab was here and Andy went like:

“Finally!!" (followed by a sign of relief)

But, when he opened the door, the girl in the jet-black hoodie also opened the cab door.

“Excuse me, I booked the cab dude!”

“Don’t dude me, I booked the cab, see my booking ID.”

Thankfully, before the possibility of a fight in the middle of 6th Avenue, the cab driver intervened and said, there’s a glitch probably and you guys have double booked the cab. As both of them had the same destination, and the flight tickets were expensive enough to cancel at the last moment without a full refund, the cab was boarded.

Nosed were twitched, and curses were spoken which was followed by awkward silence.

But, suddenly the mystery black-hoodie girl picked the romantic thriller book in Andy’s hand and said you like romance, right? Do you like the author or do you like the book?

Andrew irked, shook his shoulder in great agony, and said “I am still on the first page, and why do you care? Have you written the book? Are you the famous author Isha?”

The girl replied, yes, I am. She removed her mask, and there she was Isha Talwar- the youngest award-winning author of the year! What happened next? Stay tuned to understand the secrets and vagaries behind Love Paradox!
