Process of Selection for Canada PR

Once you determine your eligibility for Canada PR through the Canada PR points calculator, you need to create a profile online. The federal government then checks if you are eligible for a program under Express Entry. If selected, you get placed into the Express Entry pool.

Here, your profile is ranked against other potential candidates as per the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) - a point-based system. Your age, education, work experience, language skills, and adaptability factors are assessed and given a score.

Frequent Express Entry draws are conducted - where a CRS cut-off is decided. If you meet the requirements, you are invited to apply for permanent residence. If not, you can improve your score and wait for the next draw.

After getting accepted, IRCC gives you 60 days to submit a complete PR application along with supporting documents.
