Winning The Wrong Way

Blind success can quickly turn sour if you aren't aware of how you got there. Take the time to learn for yourself...

We already know what you are saying, “isn’t winning, winning?” Theoretically, yes, it is. However, there is something called ‘habits’ and forming bad habits could be detrimental to a trader.

When a trader wins the ‘wrong way,’ it is only natural he/she will be forming some level of habit(s) along the way. Unfortunately, the longer a trader goes forming bad habits, the harder it will be to break them once realized how they are negatively affecting their overall growth.

We are huge advocates on patience. Not just patience in a trade, but patience in growth. Despite the average hold time of our positions, under one day, we maintain a long-term outlook. We cannot stress it enough, maintaining a long-term view of the markets and your growth in this business, will keep you seated at the table for as long as desire.

The problem with ‘Winning the Wrong Way,’ is patience, or lack thereof. Most people want success, yesterday. Why do you think alert services, Discord rooms, and other various chatrooms are so popular? Simple answer, most people do not want to put in the actual work to achieve their own success; they would much rather copy someone else, follow someone else – it is easier; or is it?

When/if a trader falls into this blindly following alert services trap or other forms of the herd mentality, a winning trade from this path begins building a false since of success. This in turn forms those bad habits we previously mentioned.

There is a right way and a wrong way to reach the level of success in this business and we assure you, it has nothing to do with an alert service or random chat room.

There is no substitute for putting in the work. Yes, we are firm believers of working smarter rather than harder, but smarter certainly does not equate to blindly following others.

Have you ever noticed after a string of winning trades, the next loss, is a substantial one? Why do you think that it? Nine times out of ten, it is because you became complacent and let your guard down a bit; perhaps you ignored your usual risk parameters and got your a$$ handed to you. It is quite humbling actually – do not worry, we’ve all been there.

In this scenario, there is a high probability that towards the end of your winning streak, a couple of those ‘winning trades’ were a bit lucky. That is exactly what ‘Winning the Wrong Way’ means.

Fundamental analysis, technical analysis – yes, they are very important aspects of trading. BUT, they pale in comparison to the psychology behind a consistently profitable trader. There is not one single consistently profitable trader that is not psychologically dialed into the market and mores0, themselves. We reach this level of success, not be understanding FA/TA better than anyone else; we reach consistently profitability by understanding market psychology and more important our own psychology.

We all see the same technical levels. We all read the same financial reports. So why do you think trading success eludes so many? Quite simply because they have let themselves fall victim to their own emotions and never took the time to address the psychology behind these random feelings, that until now, were unexposed. Trading will bring out things in oneself that were never there before. Take the time to address them and success will be around the corner. If you try to sweep these emotions under the rug, there is a high probability you will end up just another statistic of the market.
