With the extreme amounts of beauty products out there, it’s hard to know which one will work best for you and your lifestyle. It seems that trends keep popping up everywhere, and brands keep adding and changing their products to fit with what’s “in” at the time, so maintaining a specific beauty habit can be difficult. One thing that has stayed consistent throughout the years though has been the hydration beauty hack.

Water can do absolute wonders for hair, skin, and nails, and can add that special glow that brands swear their products can do, and it’s free! Even celebrities swear that no matter what products their trying out, water and intense hydration can be the golden ticket to looking your best.

Our bodies rely on water to survive, and when the body isn’t hydrated it can become very apparent. Overtime nails can start to become brittle, hair will start to dry out and break easier, skin will start to crack, and lips will start to chap. While products can help avoid these issues from happening, if water is consumed regularly, they can all be avoided very easily. The more hydrated the body is, the more your nails will grow and keep that healthy look, your hair will grow thicker and faster, and your skin will age at a slower rate due to blood circulation.

Additionally, while hydration will help the hair, skin, and nails look young and fresh, it will also help with maintaining weight, and it’s a natural detoxifier. Commonly, the body confuses hunger with thirst, causing overeating to easily occur. When the body is hydrated to its proper state, you’ll start to feel hungry when you actually need food, rather than water. The more water you drink, the more your body empties itself which is how it gets rid of toxins. So when you hydrate more, you’ll not only look better, but you’ll feel better too.

It’s recommended that the average person drinks about half a gallon of water a day, which is easier said than done. To make this task more of a habit, purchase a water bottle and calculate how many times you need to finish the water to reach this goal. Soon enough you’ll start to do this without thinking and you'll start to see and feel all the beauty benefits!
